Olise And Eze

Hodgson Plays Down Eze and Olise Injury Fears

Eagles Duo Shine as Hodgson's Pressure Eases

Crystal Palace manager Roy Hodgson has played down the severity of injuries to key players Michael Olise and Eberechi Eze, who put in a dazzling attacking display against West Ham on Tuesday.

Eze scored twice and Olise picked up two assists and a goal as Palace eased pressure on Hodgson, who has come under fire for the team's recent poor form.

Both players were substituted in the second half, with Olise clutching his hamstring and Eze appearing to tweak his ankle. However, Hodgson said after the game that he did not believe the injuries were serious.

"They are both fine," Hodgson said. "Michael felt his hamstring a little bit, but it's not a big problem. Eberechi just had a knock on his ankle, but again, it's nothing to worry about."

The goals from Eze were his first in the Premier League, and he was full of praise for Olise's performance.

"Michael was outstanding," Eze said. "He created so many chances for me, and I'm just glad I was able to put them away."

Olise also returned the compliment, saying: "Eberechi is a wonderful player, and it's a pleasure to play with him. We have a good understanding on the pitch, and I hope we can continue to build on this performance."
