U.S. stocks are poised to open higher on Thursday as investors await the latest data on the labor market and the Federal Reserve's policy meeting next week.

The Labor Department's weekly jobless claims report is due out at 8:30 a.m. ET. Economists surveyed by Dow Jones expect 235,000 Americans to have filed for unemployment benefits last week, down from 250,000 the previous week.

The Fed's policy meeting is scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday of next week. The central bank is widely expected to raise interest rates by a quarter of a percentage point, the first hike since 2018.

  2. FDX: FedEx is scheduled to report earnings after the market closes. The company is expected to report earnings per share of $4.40 on revenue of $23.5 billion.
  3. CELH: Celsius Holdings, a maker of energy drinks, is scheduled to report earnings after the market closes. The company is expected to report a loss per share of $0.04 on revenue of $125.6 million.
  4. FSLR: First Solar, a manufacturer of solar panels, is scheduled to report earnings after the market closes. The company is expected to report earnings per share of $1.05 on revenue of $1.06 billion.
